More ABR Scams, Lies, Cover Up's & Dead People?

*
Well it's been a couple of exciting weeks over on the nut bag board......

Let me start with giving you a little history on a rescue called Lifelines, who claimed to be a 501c3 rescue....for the last couple of years they have been on ABR begging for anything from feed to fence to rent. They've had to unexpectedly "move" at least 3 times that I know of.....around every corner there was a red flag but the FOB's choose to ignore them and continuously threw money.

Several questions were raised over time.....and we all know that isn't allowed on the Nazi board to begin with, but what made this rescue even more protected from criticism is that one of the moderators on ABR, well, this was one of her babies. I can't tell you how many times I've seen posts deleted and members banned for asking legitimate questions of them.

Lets fast forward to November 6th.....A post is made by the moderator who has sang praises and glory for this rescue (MaryLOhio), that the owner of Lifelines, Theresa Driesbach, had passed away the night before. And to PLEASE send (can you guess? :) MONEY to the husband who is going to carry on her "dream"....referring to the rescue of course.

Imagine to everyone's surprise when the obituary came out and the owner of, here after referred to as LL, Lisa Zeller had passed.....

Damn little digging uncovered that the Zeller woman was indeed who everyone referred to as Theresa Driesbach, Lisa had been convicted of identity theft at least once. Also uncovered, again with damn little digging, that SUPRISE! LL was indeed not a 501c3 rescue, she had been arrested on more than one occasion, was involved in dog rescue at one time and was found to be a fraud then, not to mention a little abuse going on too.

I'm sure there is shit I'm missing, but honestly I'm not going to put that much energy into today's blog with going through all the crap I've researched and saved.....that should have been the job of all the people who threw money.....but I especially blame the moderator for what I can only refer to as a major cover up with all the praises she sang and posts that were deleted and members banned when anyone questioned LL.

MaryL has since modified the original death post to take out the part to send money of course......AFTER God only knows ow much money was sent. It's all about covering your tracks over there :)

So not only could all of this had been avoided with allowing questioning, now the members who donated to a fake 501c3 have to worry about the money they claimed on last years taxes and not being able to claim any donations on this years.

It gets better...if you didn't waste your time reading the link I posted above here is a basic run down for you of the events since Nov. 6th....well ok, the events since the beginning of LL coming to ABR. LOL

LL begs funds on ABR for 2 years.....right down to carrots and rent.

Red flags everywhere.

You ask questions, you get banned.

Double difficult, rescue is friends with a MOD. Questions 200% prohibited.

LL owner dies.

Mod comes on, announces death, says please send all your $ to husband to help carry on "the dream".

Obituary comes out....whoops, different name than the person they knew!

LL owner previously convicted of ID theft......

Next day husband who is "carrying on dream" is selling horses.

More info comes to light. Rescue owner has about 6 identities.

Opps, more info....LL owner died of AIDS two years ago too per a dog rescue forum.

SS# were required on all the adoption contracts.

Husband supposedly skipped town with the computer with all evidence on it....not to mention the "dream" money....wait, husbands back? Where is the computer? Who the fuck knows....

LL used a fake 501c3 and as been collecting donations for 2 years.

People who claimed them on taxes last year are fucked.

Bottom line.....person may or may not be dead, thousands of dollars given to the rescue after the death at a MODS request, and a hubby of felon with a ton of SS#'s.

In a way I feel a little guilty getting this much pleasure when a person could have actually died....then again I'm not overly bothered because of a long list of convictions from the ID theft to animal abuse.

The FOB's worshiped this woman.

Oh....and since the funds were raised on ABR ALL the FOB's think they own them and there is a huge power struggle going on. It's fucking awesome....sorry.....

There's about 10 threads going on now for this debacle.....there easy to find if you have several hours of your life to completely waste that you'll never get back. So far there has been several people claiming to be in charge of what going to happen to the horses now. It depends what day it is as to who's in charge. It's a huge cluster fuck!

One would think after this mess that the board Nazi and his minions would allow some questioning of rescues to go one. Hell, it even looked promising for a minute. But it's gone back to business as usual over there....

A rescue that amazing enough, several FOB's have questioned, took a little heat yesterday. The rescue is called Hidden Meadows Equine Rescue or HMER for short. Another that needs money for absolutely everything, down to band-aids, and has a farm that looks like a shit hole.....not to mention the lady has a real tough time with math, but it's ok, it always works out in her favor ;)

Questions deleted, members banned and the thread was locked. I see it's back open for posting now.....someone must have thrown an empty beer bottle at the board Nazi.

Bottom line is, AGAIN, if questions were allowed, standards set, people researched and moderators playing fair, the LL deal could have saved people a lot of time, energy and money....but I guess it would take away from the "numbers saved" that seem to be the MOST important thing over there.....even though I guarantee they couldn't tell you where 10% of those horses are now!

*

Sorry ICERs, I read a couple of things over there this morning that had me ROTFLMAO and so true......I have to share :)

Top 10 Standards of Behavior required on ABR that banned posters did not meet:

10. Smile all the time, or send smileys, or send bunnies that smile, or any cartoon with a smile on it.

9. Tell Alex how wonderful he is and how important he is to the horse industry on a daily basis.

8. Overlook any seemingly odd situations at "rescue" organizations in order to use more smiley cartoons, etc.

7. Say "I get it" or "She gets it" or "You get it" in at least three posts a month.

6. Mention Barbaro, what Barbaro is doing now, what Barbaro is thinking now, or any form of Barbaro comment whenever possible.

5. Take photos with orbs and post them regularly.

4. Tell Alex how wonderful he is and how important he is to the horse industry on a daily basis.

3. Pretend that ALL the horses ever given money to were REALLY RESCUED/SAVED from the kill pen, kill buyer, death, bad rescues, etc.

2. Whenever Alex writes a blog, column, goes on the radio, etc. be prepared to follow this up with a gushing comment on how important he is to the horses.
AND THE NUMBER ONE REASON............ARE YOU READY..........???? CAN YOU GUESS????

1. WIKI WIKI WIKI WIKI WIKI WIKI WIKI.... (as in no Wiki, no upkeep of Wiki, think Wiki is Whacky....etc.)

Did anyone see a body this time?

If not she may still be around under another name.

Maybe even on the http://forums.delphiforums.com
as someone else for quite awhile now.

Does anyone know for sure what her husband's, if he is her husband, real name is?

Are they both involved in other things also?

If you haven't seen a body don't believe what you read.

Yes, Lisa L. Zeller has done this before & if you notice the charges against her were under the name Lisa L Zeller... so how does "Donald Douglas Williams" tie into this & who is he really?:

PLEASE CROSS POST!!!!!!!!!!!!

> I, Sherri Moore and Drema Clifton, upon information and belief, believe the following facts and circumstances are true.Where such information is upon belief I further state that I believe this information to be true.
Clay Co recently sent several pups and a mom to Small Wonders. We checked references and what we thought was her vet. Today we received an email about SW being on DNA
list. I started rechecking and Here is the facts about SW as I found out this evening:
The vet number in which Bitsy aka Lisa gave is not a vet number, in fact when I recalled that number Bitsy herself answered the phone. When asked why she gave this number as her vet number she could not explain, and stuttered around the issue. She then gave me another number stating it was her vet's office. I called that number, at first the message stated it did not have a voice mail account. Then few minutes later I called getting a message in a voice that sounded alot like Bitsy with a cold. My phone holds the last 5 numbers that I call and I checked the numbers from the first try to the one with the voice mail and it was correct, I checked with the state vet's directory and no vet by the name listed in the voice mail. When I asked Bitsy if she was Lisa, she said no when in fact I spoke to Ellen at the state inspector's office and she informed me of the following: that Bitsy is alias for Lisa She is not 501(c)3
Not licensed with the state, this week will be the 3rd visit from the State inspectors office.
She told people that her husband was a retired vet, Bitsy told inspector that she told this to get people off her back.Inspector has not seen any documents as to where the dogs have gone. No adoption application. No records of any vetting. What we are in the process of doing. We have an attorney (free) to the Humane Assoc. she is already working on this and tomorrow someone will be going to PA to press charges against Small Wonders, our attorney feels we have a very good case as Bitsy obtained our dogs under false pretense. We will not let this die, we are hoping to get our dogs back, but the inspector said there were no signs of the 14 pups and mom on the property when she was there to inspect last time. There was however a sign on the lawn stating pups for adoption. Bitsy told us our dogs were in isolation for another week. I truly doubt this to be true. The night of the transport after meeting the 2 ladies and the situation as it was that they wanted to put our pups in with other pups from other shelters I told another vol. that I had a very bad feeling and we should not send the pups, on the other hand I thought it was just me being overly protective of our kids. I sent them and I regret it very much. I wish I had listened to my conscience. We are charging SW tomorrow, it may be too late for our pups BUT I will
make sure that Bitsy aka Lisa will never get another animal from anyone. Please help us. Is anyone in the PA area willing to go to the authorities with us tomorrow to press charges
against this group?
Please conact us at cchumaneassoc@yahoo.com

I am writing on behalf of my Aunt Lisa.

My Aunt passed on this morning and since I promised to send out these dang emails, I thought it would help me a little as well...

Aunt Lisa ran a puppy rescue for awhile but was shunned by the rescue community. But everyone should also know that she also donated money and time to other efforts as well, such as Habitat for Humanity. Even when she got really sick she was still on the phone or gathering funds for this cause.

She donated money to pull, board, and alter both dogs and horses for various shelters and rescues all over the US. I remember when she ordered boxes of vaccine and sent them to GA to help out. Or the time she sent money to TN to cover S/N of seven pups. None of the places have ever publicly stepped forward and said YES, I worked with Lisa or accepted donations from her. Would it have been so much trouble to say thank you...

She was also an HIV/AIDS awareness activist of sorts. She let the world know that having HIV/AIDS and HEP C didn't mean you had to stop doing what you love. She loved animals and that never waivered. Even when faced with fines and jailtime.

I just had to share my thoughts. This was for you Aunt Lisa, rest easy I took care of it.

Thank you for your time,
Teresa

Thinking of donating? Everyone should read this:

http://www.charitywatch.org/articles/undercover.html

From the April 2004 Watchdog Report

Undercover Investigation Reveals
How Easy It Is to Set Up Phony Charity

“The Protection charities get under the First Amendment has resulted in a nationwide plague of newly established charities doing little good but considered legitimate.”

“It’s far too easy for anybody to set up a charity, get tax-exempt status with the IRS, do very little of anything charitable and get away with it.”

- Daniel Borochoff, AIP president, on the ABC News program, Primetime

The American Institute of Philanthropy worked with ABC News on a yearlong investigation of the charity business. Rhonda Schwartz, a producer for ABC News, went undercover to see how easy it would be to set up a phony charity. She called around to people in the telemarketing industry to get the word out that she wanted to join others who make a lot of money in the charity business, with little effort.

She first thought that she would try starting a children’s wish charity since many people are so emotionally shaken by the plight of a terminally ill child that they will automatically want to contribute. But she was advised against it because then she would have to go to the trouble of granting wishes, whereas if she set up a different type of charity she could get away with a lot less work. For instance, she could claim to be running an educational program for a children’s charity by simply copying stuff off of the Internet and mailing it to some random schools.

Ms. Schwartz’s calls led her to Richard Troia, who has a long history in the charity business. With the ABC News hidden camera rolling, Troia gleefully describes his business, how he can help her set up a phony charity and even says: “You’ll be able to make a good living off it.” He mentioned his success with charities, including the Firefighters Charitable Foundation (an AIP “F”-rated charity) that is raising six or seven million a year. “It didn’t begin to take off yet. It’s just getting rolling,” according to Troia. He also enthusiastically spoke about a new charity, United Pet Way that would solicit people to raise money to save pets from being put to sleep. Troia described a carefully worded phone pitch for this charity and said, “it’s like a tear jerker.”

Troia said that he had “access to 10,000 phones” for a telemarketing operation that takes 90% of the money raised. He said that it would be up to her to decide how to spend the remaining 10% but some of it would need to go to a charitable purpose. He advised Schwartz that money should not be taken out early on because “in the beginning, they are gonna look at you.” Troia warned that “…your biggest problem is, is gonna be how to get rid of the money.”

When Troia was shown the undercover tape he said he was against the idea of setting up the charity from the beginning because Schwartz was “too greedy,” even though he insisted on keeping 90% of the money raised.

The program ended with Daniel Borochoff, AIP’s president, warning that anyone receiving phone solicitations should “think of this guy in your mind because it may be someone like him.”

The program also discussed Kids Wish USA and its founder Michael Manzer, who was recently sent to prison for mail fraud and money laundering. This charity promised to grant the wishes of terminally ill children yet it did not grant even one wish, according to federal prosecutor Mike Snipes. The program pointed out that had Manzer spent even a small amount of money to grant one wish, he might not have been prosecuted and his charity might be considered legitimate. A more savvy scammer is going to know that he has a far greater chance of avoiding prosecution if he spends at least something on the charity’s stated purpose. This is why it is so important for donors to learn what portion of funds is being spent on the charity’s stated purpose.

Paula Van Ness, the president of Make-A-Wish Foundation (an AIP “B”-rated charity), said on the program: “It’s got to be millions of dollars…that are going to organizations that are pretending to be the Make-A-Wish Foundation. People see it as an easy opportunity to make a buck.”

Yes, Lisa L Zeller, with LOTs of AKA's, told great stories, anyone see a body yet?:

http://blogs.mcall.com/web_watcher/2005/08/hello_world.html

Hello,
My name is Lisa and I run Redneck Resue a non-profit dog rescue outside Palmerton on a shoestring. I also have AIDS and am dying a very slow and painful death. I am writing this note to let people know that by taking care of others and helping out the animals, I now feel better about my fate. My day begins at 5am and I rotate the doggies, feed them, clean-up after them, but mostly love them all day. In between I go online and search for more dogs to rescue from GA and OH. I also take alot of time trying to get donations from companies and individuals. My husband mostly thinks I am nuts. Like for instance, right now we need dog pens. So I went online to the freecycle yahoo groups and placed requests with all of them in the area. By doing this, I'm keeping busy - which takes my mind off my fate. I still roll around on the floor with the pups, even though my doctor says that I can now catch alot of things from these rescued pups, like worms. I don't care - what's the worst that could happen, maybe I'll kill me. (ha-ha-ha) I wish everyone could "live like they were dying" as the song goes. I wish Morning Call would do a story on real people like us once in awhile.

Thank you...
P.S. We always need donations as well a volunteers to transport animals from various county pounds to the rescue. If your interested, please contact me at Lisa@RedneckRescue.com

Teresa Dreisbach's Elfwood Pages

Click on "writings" tab, and hey, read some of the stories. Yes, indeedy it is the same Lisa Zeller/ Teresa Dreisbach... check out the names of the characters. Hmm... her children's names, her horse's names.

One of her "dear friends" mentioned she was excited about publishing a book.

Oh, yeah... she did knock off about half her age on her profile at Elfwood. But the address is right.

Did anyone see an actual body? She has done this before. "If" the State Troopers are really involved in all of this, out at Lifelines, have the proper authorities checked the finger prints of the deceased? in the house? Have they checked for anything that can positively prove who this person really was?

Who is Donald "Dee" Williams, really? Is he being charged with fraud?

Have the police confiscated the computers in the house? If not, why not?

Is anyone positive the information coming from a "helper" at Lifelines valid?

Does anyone know anything for sure about what really went down at Lifelines? What is going on now?

Another great job, Buc. You're "take" on the Board Nazi, their idiot leader and his minions, couldn't be more "right on." FYI, as far as what happened to the infamous computer belonging to Tee/Lisa/Lifelines, whatever she called herself, it seems that the computer was hacked to death by in irate Don several days after Tee/Lisa's alleged demise. The computer, and whatever may be left of it, has now been turned over to the proper authorities who are investigating this sordid case.

Oh Really?:
http://alexbrownracing.com/wiki/index.php/Lifelines_Farm_%26_Sanctuary
What year was your rescue started? 1991

Keep this in mind, the person she introduced as her niece at the farm? OK, who was the person introduced to the niece? Was more then one person at the farm when this supposedly occurred? Do you know who they are for sure? Or are these phantom writings from the ruse(?) & or accomplices? Or is the person introduced as the niece part of the ruse?

You don't understand there was also a time when she/they did searches for parents of adopted children & the adoptees & were paid for their efforts. Their searches were from the internet but those paying her & her accomplice/s didn't know that, they thought they were doing an investigation by their trade.

Look at this:

Jeffery Dawson, Lisa Zeller, 05-29-1986, New Jersey, NJ DYFS, 0000 ...
Submitted By: Lisa Zeller(a Birth Mother) Origionally Added: May 21, 2004 ... Birthmother's Name: Lisa Zeller. Birthfather's Name: Jeffery Dawson ...

Everyone hang on to your hearts, your wallets and your personal information.

Remember this is the internet where anyone can be anybody doing anything. People are even fooled by others in person it's just now as we sit here and send posts back and forth that these events get easier for the predators.

BTW, have the authorities contacted the dog warden in Monroe County, PA from when they were living in Blakeslee to see if she can add any information? I believe the dog warden there is named Ellen Howarth?

What's going to happen to the dogs from Lifelines & who was sending them to Lifelines?

My best to everyone trying to figure out what really happened or should I be typing "What really happened, again?"

I have followed Lisa, or whoever, for quite awhile now and unless I see and touch her dead body I will not believe she is deceased.

Oh and Lisa, or whatever your real name is, I must say you didn't look real happy when your picture was being taken for the Inside Edition. Was it you were wondering if anyone would recognize you?

I did and I will again.

Just another reason why I don't even bother going to ABF anymore. Too many scams. NO accountability. A WIKI? So what. Scam, scam, scam, $$$$$. Begathons constantly. And, the owner of the forum doesn't seem to care! Someone needs to hold him responsible.

Anonymous said...

The reason she posted on http://registry.adoption.com/records/405606.html is she was attempting to find HER child who was removed from her home (as were the other two) and all parental rights were terminated. Jeffery was put up for adoption by DYFS, his name is no longer Jeffery Dawson, it's whatever his adoptive parents named him.

She was posting there (as many birth mothers do) to locate her child, or should he want to locate her, he could look on there. The adoptive child can find his birth name on there and birth information about his family, and then decide whether or not to contact his birth family.

Her other two children, Alexis and Ben, I believe were raised by family members.

Her parental rights were terminated due to being arrested over and over and over again for drug possession, intent to sell, intent to manufacture, etc... Not an ideal household for a child to be raised in.

So she wasn't accepting payment to locate children for people, she was attempting to locate her own child.

Hope that clears it up?

And yeah, the photos for Inside Edition, I agree, she did not look real happy, had on hat, glasses and attempted to disguise herself just a bit...

I've also followed her for quite some time, and knew her back in the dog rescue days when she was attempting to get dogs from down south because none of the shelters in PA would release dogs to her any more... dogs chained to the front porch, to a dog house, etc.. The ACO/sheriff in THAT area was going after her to get a broker's license, since she was receiving and "adopting" (and he used the term very loosely) more than 20 dogs per year... according to PA state law, if you are "brokering" more than 20 animals a year, you must be licensed as an animal broker.

I don't know how you can stand to read over there enough to even follow this. My head imploded at the first thread I saw just now, an individual who had taken a horse and now wants other people to pay for its supplements and farrier care.

Seriously, WTF is wrong with people over there? And every time they say they "learn" about scammers, they get snowed by someone else. sheesh.

There are rescues even 501 (3)'s that that board is their only source of funds. If the board goes away they will crash and burn. You can tell who they are, they have a gazillion threads going asking for funds for every single thing horse related. Also some of them rely on that board to supply their rescues with horses to adopt out! No Lie! They expect that board to buy them horses from brokers to re-sell, errrrr adopt out for much higher prices but they never seem to be able to use their sale/adoption fees to buy their own horses. It is insane yet they claim anyone who questions this has an agenda and will gang up fight tooth and toenail to shut them up or discredit them for merely asking questions.

Our Adoption Process...
Please go to http://k9lifelines.org/RP_Application.asp for an application. Once your application is sent, we review it for preliminary acceptability.. We then screen if your environment and family composition is what the dog needs, speak to your vet, have a volunteer do a home visit, and if your home meets the needs of that particular dog, it is arranged for you to meet the dog. Adoption can take place at that time as all approvals are in order.

Apparently the HMER lady is even trying to charge "adoption fees" for horses she doesn't own that are still on the race track. Wonder if their trainers know about that...
